Sugar Pine Point State Park
Located 10 miles south of Tahoe City on the West Shore in Tahoma, Sugar Pine Point has more than 2,000 acres of conifer forest. There is a swimming beach with a pier and a 175 site campground as well as hiking and biking for every level. The General Creek loop is an easy and scenic route with a wide trail. Home of the historical Ehrman Mansion.

D.L. Bliss State Park
Continue South on Highway 89 towards Emerald Bay. A fabulous place to camp and enjoy the sandy beaches and watch as people jump into Lake Tahoe from the rocks and cliffs above. This is a great place to drop your anchor if you’re boating and enjoy the crystal blue waters of Lake Tahoe. Great hiking with views and a romantic place to be.

Emerald Bay
Emerald Bay is a must-see in Tahoe with turquoise water and beautiful scenery. Vikingsholm, a home constructed in 1929, is the highlight of the park with Scandinavian architecture and a sod roof. Fannette Island, the only island to be found in Lake Tahoe, is quite a sight to see.

Burton Creek State Park
Burton Creek is located in Tahoe City and offers 2,000 acres of land to play on. There are six miles of unpaved roadway available for hiking and cross-country skiing. In the winter, the Tahoe Cross-Country Ski Area offers groomed ski trails with views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Kings Beach State Recreation Area
Offering 700 feet of beachfront and a place to bask in the sun or play in the water.

64-Acres Park
Situated just south of the “Y” in Tahoe City, 64-Acres hosts parking, picnicking and provides access to the bike trail system and to the Truckee River through a rafting ramp.

Sand Harbor
The East Shore's Sand Harbor is considered by many to be the most beautiful beach at Lake Tahoe. A great swimming and kayaking spot with views of Lake Tahoe that can’t be beat. There is a boat launch, kayak rentals, picnic areas with barbeques and tables. Sand Harbor's outdoor stage is home to the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival during the summer.

Commons Beach Park
Located on Lake Tahoe in downtown Tahoe City. Popular for sunbathing, swimming, and picnicking, the park also has a children’s playground. Concerts in the summer on Sundays as well as movie nights and a Farmers Market.

Lake Forest Beach Park
Located at the end of Bristlecone Avenue, off Lake Forest Road, this park offers great views and picnic tables. A popular spot for swimming and watching the 4th of July fireworks.

Skylandia Park and Beach
Skylandia is a 24-acre park located on Lake Forest Road northeast of Tahoe City. Along with a beach, pier, and swimming area, the park provides bike trails, hiking trails, and picnicking.

Camp Richardson
Nestled amongst the pines and located along Lake Tahoe's longest stretch of sandy beaches, Historic Camp Richardson Resort is the closest to Emerald Bay, as well as Desolation Wilderness. Situated on Lake Tahoe's southwest shore, Camp Richardson has a full service marina . The lake's newest pier has a fuel station . Equestrians can find guided trail rides and lessons at the Camp Richardson Corral. The resort also features the Beacon Bar & Grill on the water's edge, 300 campsites, a historic hotel and lakefront cabins.

Kilner Park
This wooded 7-acre park, located 3.5 miles south of Tahoe City off of Highway 89, is adjacent to the West Shore bike trail. It has a children’s playground, lighted tennis courts, sand volleyball court, walking and biking trails, picnic tables, and restrooms.

Zephyr Cove
Zephyr Cove, located in South Lake Tahoe, is a recreational paradise for people of all ages. The mile of sandy beach includes volleyball courts, a lawn area for group events, and the Sunset Beach Bar. The Zephyr Cove Resort Marina offers parasailing and boat rentals. Visitors also have the option to take a ride on the paddlewheel boat, the M.S. Dixie II, the Woodwind II catamaran, or embark on a sportsfishing charter. The resort also features a modern campground and beachfront cabins .
